Merv’s Story

In September 2007, whist in the army, Merv was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with very severe Aplastic anemia (VSAA), after 8 months of unsuccessful treatment Merv was offered one last roll of the dice in the form of a bone marrow transplant.

It worked!

Following recovery Merv married his long term partner and had 2 boys, they decided to have one more…

During pregnancy they were told that something was wrong with their unborn child. A heart defect was identified in July 2018, Teddy Lawrence was born with heart failure. Teddy’s condition can be cured, he has had open heart surgery to help stabilise him, he has bands on his arteries and is fed through a machine with a NG tube. Teddy is firing on all cylinders for sure…

We have 6 months to get to the moon and back.

To raise £10k for everyone we love.

I was very over weight and un fit. In this time I have dropped 4 dress sizes and hopefully inspired many others to start a journey one being my daughter sophia who is going to run some of the way with me.
